Such is the charm of my beloved Krishna! ||1||

He is the light of my eyes, whirling through all creation—
Yet why does He not reside forever in the three worlds? ||2||

This is the playful Lord of Janabai’s heart—
With Sudama as His companion, Balarama by His side...
Jani says: You, O Chakrapani, play divine games in Vrindavan,

He who appeared as the fish (Matsya) avatar,
to destroy the demon who stole the Vedas, and saved the sacred scriptures ||1||

He bore the weight of the earth as the turtle (Koorma),
to support the churning of the ocean and restore balance ||2||

He emerged as the boar (Varaha),
fought the demon who stole the Earth, and rescued her ||3||

For Prahlada’s sake, he came as Narasimha,
destroyed the tyrant Hiranyakashipu and upheld dharma ||4||

As Vamana, he appeared as a Brahmin boy,
and with three steps, reclaimed the universe from Bali ||5||

He came as Parashurama to humble arrogant kings,
and swiftly removed the ego of Kshatriyas ||6||

As Rama, he destroyed the demon Ravana,
and upheld dharma with gentle valor ||7||

As Krishna, he lifted Govardhan,
and crushed evil demons, protecting dharma ||8||

As Buddha, he taught wisdom and renunciation,
bringing an end to blind ritual and selfish acts ||9||

As Kalki, he will come to destroy the wicked at the end of the age,
riding a white horse with radiant energy ||10||

These ten avatars are the divine forms of the Supreme Lord,
manifested to protect righteousness and guide the world ||11||

ಒಲ್ಲನೋ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಕೊಳ್ಳನೋ
ಎಲ್ಲ ವಸ್ತುಗಳಿದ್ದು ತುಳಸಿ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಪೂಜೆ
ಒಲ್ಲನೋ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಕೊಳ್ಳನೋ || ಪ ||

ಸಿಂಧು ಗೋದಾವರಿ ಗಂಗೆ ಉದಕವಿದ್ದು
ಗಂಧ ಪರಿಮಳ ವಸ್ತುಗಳು ಇದ್ದು
ಚಂದುಳ್ಳ ಗಂಧ ಪಂಚಾಮೃತಗಳಿದ್ದು
ಬೃಂದಾವನದ ಶ್ರೀ ತುಳಸಿ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಪೂಜೆ || ೧ ||

ಕಮಲ ಮಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಜಾಜಿ ಚಂಪಕವಿದ್ದು
ವಿಮಲ ಧೂಪ ದೀಪ ಕರ್ಪೂರವಿದ್ದು
ಅಮಿತ ಪಂಚಭಕ್ಷ್ಯ ಅಮೃತಾನ್ನಗಳಿದ್ದು
ಕಮಲನಾಭಗೆ ಪ್ರಿಯ ತುಳಸಿ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಪೂಜೆ || ೨ ||

ಪೂಜೆಯ ಮಾಡಿರೋ ಶ್ರೀ ತುಳಸಿ ದಳದ
ಮೂಜದೊಡೆಯ ಮುರಾರಿಯನ್ನಾ
ರಾಜಧಿರಾಜ ಜಯ ಮಂತ್ರಪುಷ್ಪಗಳಿಂದ
ರಾಜರಾಜ ನಮ್ಮ ಪುರಂದರ ವಿಠಲನು || ೩ ||

Gandha parimala vastugalu iddhu

Kamala mallige jaaji champakaviddhu
Vimala dhoopa deepa karpooraviddhu
Amita panchabhakshya amritaannagalu iddhu

English Meaning:

Will Krishna accept this? Will he be pleased?
Even when everything else is there, if Tulasi is missing from the worship—
Will Krishna truly accept it?

There is holy water from the Sindhu, Godavari, and Ganga,
Fragrant sandal and aromatic offerings,
Gandha and rich panchamrita—all present—
But if the sacred Tulasi of Brindavan is absent, the worship feels incomplete. || 1 ||

There are lotus, jasmine, jaaji, and champaka flowers,
Pure incense, lamps, and camphor,
Abundant sweet and divine food offerings—
Yet, without the beloved Tulasi of the Lotus-naveled Lord, the pooja lacks heart. || 2 ||

The worship that includes a simple Tulasi leaf,
Is dear to Murari, the Lord of the Yadus.
With victory chants and mantras, the King of Kings—
Our Purandara Vittala is truly pleased. || 3 ||
