English Meaning:
You exist in countless forms, as countless suns, moons, and stars. Where should I search for You, when Your divine presence is infinite?
Wherever a seed sprouts, there is Your presence. Your touch brings fragrance to flowers. You color the entire universe, yet which color truly belongs to You?
Sometimes, You are the scorching summer heat, sometimes, the soothing rain. In bustling cities and silent deserts, Your footsteps are imprinted. Is there any place where Your presence is unknown?
What is Your true form, O Lord? I cannot comprehend. You are both the deity in the temple and the ruler of Vaikuntha. With which words should I call upon You?
Reflections
This beautiful Marathi abhang contemplates the infinite, formless, and all-pervading presence of the Divine. The poet reflects on the countless forms of God — as vast as crores of suns, moons, and stars — and wonders how one can ever hope to seek or describe such a boundless essence. God resides where life begins, in the sprouting of seeds, in the fragrance of flowers, in every element of nature — from the summer’s heat to the monsoon’s rain.
The reflection here lies in realizing that the Divine is not confined to temples or idols but lives vibrantly in every atom of creation. Wherever there is movement, life, beauty, or even silence — God is there. And yet, when we try to name or define Him, all words fall short. This poem reminds us to look beyond rituals and search for God in everyday life, in simplicity, in nature, in love — for He is everywhere, in every form, and yet beyond all forms.

🕉️ Marathi Lyrics

🌺 English Meaning
"Let this body be a palanquin at Your feet, O Lord,
And let my lips always utter the name of Pandurang and Rakhumai."
Let my mind become a sacred temple,
Let my hands hold cymbals in praise.
May my innocent devotion
walk the path to Pandharpur.
Just the utterance of Your name, O Lord,
puts an end to all pain and suffering.
Let my lips always utter...
Pandurang Rakhumai.
Let my body be a palanquin.
Each breath a string of melody,
my body a single-stringed instrument.
This once-thoughtless mind
has now become a pilgrim to Your name.
In this perishable world,
take me beyond the shores, O Lord.
Let my lips always utter...
Pandurang Rakhumai.
Let my body be a palanquin.
