Adorned with radiant beauty, lotus-eyed,
His presence dissolves all impurity.
Reclining on the cosmic serpent, exalted and supreme,
Riding the king of serpents,
He alone grants the highest bliss,
Who else can stand equal before Him, O Lord?
He is dear to those who know liberation,
Easily attainable to true seekers.
There is nothing lovable within me except You,

It is said that the ruling Peshwa, having heard of Prasanna Venkata Daasaru’s reputation as a poet-saint, sent his personal stenographer as an emissary to summon the Dasaru to the royal court. The emissary, proud of his own skill and speed in writing, spoke at length about his mastery over words and script while extending the invitation. The conversation, filled with subtle ego, became the setting for a quiet yet powerful spiritual response.
Instead of engaging in debate, Prasanna Venkata Daasaru spontaneously burst into an impromptu Kannada composition, praising the infinite wealth and glory of Lord Vishnu—“Entha Shrimantaanantano Shrikaanteya Kaanta.” The verses flowed with such speed, rhythmic complexity, and layered meaning that the emissary, despite his professional training, found himself unable to write it down.
