English Meaning

O Hanuman, You stand steadfast at Ghatikachala,
The mighty and valiant one, ever ready to recite and protect sacred knowledge.

In all four Yugas, You are the chief life force—Mukhyaprana,
Worshipping the four-faced Brahma and the divine Trinity with skill,
You uplift even the ignorant and grant the fourfold fruits of life to the world.

To serve the lotus-born Lord, You remain free from impurity,
Like a sacred river flowing from the celestial discus,
Seated in deep yogic meditation on the mountaintop,
You bless human beings and grant their noble wishes.

Wielding the conch and discus, You cleanse the hearts of devotees,
Ever in service to lotus-naveled Purandara Vittala,
You remove their sorrows and grant peace to all who seek You.

Significance : Ghatikachala, Tamil Nadu – Famous for its ancient Anjaneya (Hanuman) Temple. Ghatikachala is a hill near Sholingur in the Vellore district of Tamil Nadu, India. There is an ancient temple of Lord Narasimha. This hill is known as 'Kadigachalam'. Kadigai means a period of Time in ancient Tamil language. Lord Yoga Narasimha Swamy temple is located on the top of the hill Ghatikachala and another of Shri Yoga Anjaneyar Swamy. Both the temples are located on two hillocks.Sholinghur is also known as Tirukkadikai and Cholasimhapura. It is one of the 108 Divya Desams in Hinduism.

It is said that  the King of North Madurai, Indrathyumn killed the demon Nikumba and saved the people and country. Pleased with this, Indra presented him 'Vajrayudham' (weapon of Indra) by Devendra. Lord Narasimha asked Hanuman to help the king. After the demon was killed, Hanuman was asked to stay on that hill in yoga nidra posture and bless his devotees. There is a well named 'Brahma theertham' with water rich in minerals that cure many diseases.
