ಆಗಮವನು ತಂದು ಜಗಕಿತ್ತ ಕೈಗೆ
ಸಾಗರವ ಮಥಿಸಿ ಸುಧೆ ತಂದ ಕೈಗೆ
ತೂಗಿ ಮಾತಾಡುವ ಸ್ಥೂಲಕಾಯನ ಕೈಗೆ
ಸಾಗರ ಪತಿ ನಮ್ಮ ನರಸಿಂಹನ ಕೈಗೆ ||೧||

ಬಲಿಯ ದಾನವ ಬೇಡಿ ಕೊಂಡಂತ ಕೈಗೆ
ಛಲದಿಂದ ಕ್ಷತ್ರಿಯರ ಅಳಿದಂಥ ಕೈಗೆ
ಗೆಲವಿಂದ ವಿಭೀಷಣಗೆ ಅಭಯವಿತ್ತ ಕೈಗೆ
ಬಲುಬೆಟ್ಟ ಬೆರಳಲ್ಲಿ ಎತ್ತಿದ ಕೈಗೆ ||೨||

ಪತಿವ್ರತೆಯರ ವ್ರತ ಅಳಿದಂಥ ಕೈಗೆ
ಹಿತವಾಜಿಯನೇರಿ ಮರ್ದಿಸಿದಂಥ ಕೈಗೆ
ಸತಿಶಿರೋಮಣಿ ಲಕ್ಷೀಕಾಂತನ ಕೈಗೆ
ಚತುರ ಹೆಳವನಕಟ್ಟೆ ರಂಗನ ಕೈಗೆ ||೩||

ಹಿನ್ನಲೆ :- ಕೊಮಾರನ ಹಳ್ಳಿಯ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀ ರಂಗನಾಥ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯ ರಥೋತ್ಸವದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ಸವ ಮೂರ್ತಿಯ ಆಭರಣವೊಂದನ್ನು ಗುಬ್ಬಚ್ಚಿಯೊಂದು ಹಾರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದಾಗ ಹೊನ್ನು ತಾ ಗುಬ್ಬಿ ಹೊನ್ನು ತಾ ಎಂದು ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಗಿರಿಯಮ್ಮ ಹಾಡಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಗುಬ್ಬಿ ಹಾರವನ್ನು ಮರಳಿ ಅದೇ ಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದು ಇಟ್ಟಿತಂತೆ.

Aagamavanu tandu jagakitta kai ge
Saagarava mathisi sudhe tandu kai ge
Toogi maataduva sthula kaayana kai ge
Saagara pati nam ma Narasimha kai ge ||1||

Baliya daanava bedi kondantha kai ge
Chaladindha kshatriyar alidantha kai ge
Gelavinda Vibheeshanage abhayavitta kai ge
Balubetta beralalli ettidu kai ge ||2||

Pativrathiyara vratha alidantha kai ge
Hitavaajiyeeri mardisidantha kai ge
Sathishiro mani Lakshmikantana kai ge
Chatura helavana katte Rangan kai ge ||3||

English Meaning :

Honna tha gubbi honna tha
Into the hands of our Chinmaya Murthy,
The divine, whose form is made of gold. ||1||

He brought the scripture into his hands,
He churned the ocean and brought nectar into his hands,
The one with massive body who speaks softly,
The lord of the ocean, into our Narasimha's hands. ||1||

He defeated the demons like Bali and gave alms,
He removed the ego of warrior caste into his hands,
He gave refuge to Vibhishana after victory,
With strong shoulders, into Rangan's hands. ||2||

To the hands where vows of chastity are broken,
To the hands that conquered the mighty Hiranyakashipu,
To the hands of the consort of Sridevi,
To Rangan's hands who built a fort of cleverness. ||3||

Background: During the chariot festival of Lord Lakshmi Ranganatha Swamy in Komaravalli, when devotees offered a necklace to the festival idol, they chanted "Honna tha gubbi honna tha" in devotion. This phrase refers to returning the necklace to its original place after offering it to the idol.
