Lyrics: Ram Ugavkar

🌸 English Meaning:

O Lord, your form is so beautiful,
I adorn you through the notes of music.
My entire world becomes one with these divine sounds.

Like the notes Shadja and Pancham,
I imagine them as your ornaments.
The fragrance of Gandhar note fills you,
With deep devotion and feeling.
I offer sandalwood like the note Vrushabh,
And decorate you with care.
The fragrance of musk becomes my pure offering to you. ||1||

I offer you garments woven from the sweetness of Madhyam note,
And cover you with the warmth of divine light.
Your chest is adorned with ornaments of purity,
And I place a garland of devotion around your neck. ||2||

When the seven notes rise,
They become seven divine colors.
The seven heavens seem to sway in harmony,
Becoming one eternal song.
O Panduranga, you arrive as the song itself,
And in my heart, I worship you through music. ||3||

🪔 Reflection:

This beautiful composition by Ram Ugavkar, sung soulfully by Prabhakar Karekar, reminds us of a very gentle truth — devotion is not limited to rituals, it can flow through music, feeling, and pure love. In Indian classical tradition, especially in ragas like Hamsadhwani, every note carries emotion. Here, each swara becomes an offering to the divine, almost like decorating God with sound instead of flowers.

The poet does not bring material offerings. Instead, he brings music, fragrance of feeling, and purity of heart. This shows a deeper bhakti — where the inner world becomes the temple. When music becomes prayer, even a simple note turns sacred.

It makes us pause and reflect — can our daily actions become offerings? Can our words, our work, our thoughts become as pure as a musical note offered to God? And when we listen to music, do we just hear it, or do we feel it as a connection to something higher?

In the end, this bhajan gently tells us that true devotion is not outside — it lives within us, waiting to be expressed with sincerity and love.
